Always Carry Local Coins While Backpacking

Always Carry Local Coins While Backpacking

Backpacking Travel Tip #3871

Back at home, you probably never carry change around unless your returning with it after a purchase. While backpacking or travelling abroad, you should always have a stash of coins, however. Instead of breaking bills and potentially paying higher costs, coins come in handy for bus tickets, subways, trams and even paid bathrooms. Also, when your travelling around the world on a shoe string budget, every dollar cent counts and many purchases such as taxis, buses and from shady shops magically won’t have change. Besides its not like back home where you can collect unused change to cash in on it later. With foreign coins, its better to use as much of it as possible before moving on to another country while making your load lighter from all that metal.
